Summary

This position will work directly under the Resident Services Director and has overall responsibility for the day-to-day management of
the program, ongoing program evaluation that ensures the program and services meet and maintain a standard of excellence.

Essential Job Functions

Under the general direction of the Resident Services Director, the Program Coordinator is responsible for the overall administration,
management, design, supervision and evaluation of the DOL YouthBuild Program, especially the planning and implementation of the
comprehensive academic, construction trades training, and support services for out of school youth 18-24 years old to be "job-ready".

Responsibilities include, but are not limited to:

1. Ensure the program complies with the U.S. Dept. of Labor YouthBuild regulations, administrative policies, and legislation
governing the programs.
2. Ensure all DOL Program objectives are met
3. Lead the preparation and submission of Quarterly Narrative Reports to the U.S Department of Labor, Opelika Housing
Authority, and any other entities which may require them
4. Develop, implement, and monitor administrative policies, procedures, services, and standards for the program
5. Monitor & administer approved budget, approve expenditures
6. Advertise, interview, hire, train, supervise and evaluate all employees
7. Supervise the identification and selection process for participants and the needs assessments of participants to determine
eligibility for the Program
8. Supervise the development and implementation of the support services for students
9. Supervise the planning, designing, and implementing of student community service activities and cultural programming
10. Oversee participant assessment, monitoring/implementation of services and activities
11. Document and review the effectiveness of the program and its services
12. Maintain communication with YB partners, personnel, parents, and participants
13. Build partnerships with all YB partners including high schools and community and social service agencies who assist in
student referrals and project services
14. Supervise the Program records and data maintenance for all YB participants in accordance with USDOL Regulations
15. Travel to represent programs at federal grantee meetings and attend conferences for professional development Supervising
and managing program staff
16. Assist with recruiting new participants, and retaining current participants
17. Work with students as an advocate to their success
18. Coordinate, manage and link young people to community service activities
19. Oversee the collection of data
20. Prepare program reports for both internal use and grant reporting purposes
21. Conduct on-going evaluation of improvements in program activities and outcomes
22. Demonstrate the ability to solve problems with creative solutions

26. The position may require occasional nights and weekends.
27. Additional duties as assigned

Minimum Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree in Social Work, Education, Counseling, Community Development or equivalent experience equal to this
degree.
• Experience leading and directing youth and/or workforce development programs.
• Supervisory experience.
• Dynamic leadership abilities and experience in maintaining organizational systems for tracking program information.
• Must have a deep respect for the ideas and intelligence of young adults.
• Can demonstrate a proven track record in working with young adults who have experienced multiple barriers to success.
• Must be self-directed, organized, and have the ability to work within a complex and team setting
• Must have the ability to use initiative and resourcefulness in planning, implementing, and evaluating program work
assignments
• Experience working with Federal Grant Programs

Compensation

This is a full-time position with benefits. Will run for the life of the grant which is 3 years.

SALARY: $24.08 - $28.85 per hour "DOQ"
