The waitlist for the Opelika Housing Authority HCV Program is currently closed. 


Opelika Housing Authority provides affordable housing, housing for the elderly and disabled in the cities of Opelika & Camp Hill and Lee & Tallapoosa counties. Opelika Housing Authority manages the Tallassee Housing Authority, which serves the city of Tallassee and Elmore and Tallapoosa Counties.

Our Mission: 
The mission statement of Opelika Housing Authority (OHA) is to provide drug-free, decent, safe and sanitary housing for eligible families, to provide opportunities and to promote self-sufficiency and economic independence for residents.

In order to achieve this mission, we will:

  • Recognize the resident as the ultimate customer.
  • Improve property management and service delivery efforts through effective and efficient management of our staff.
  • Seek problem-solving partnerships with residents, community and governmental leadership.
  • Apply limited multi-family program resources to the effective and efficient management and operation of housing programs.

The safety of our community, residents and staff remains a top priority. The safety protocol below is to be adhered to at all times:

DO NOT ENTER THE OFFICES, if you are experiencing a fever, chills, cough, headache, congestion or runny nose, muscle aches, nausea, vomiting.

 If you have a scheduled appointment to attend, please make sure to contact the Management Office to inform staff that you are not feeling well.

  • Masks will be REQUIRED (Masks will be provided if you do not have one).
  • A maximum of two (2) family members will be allowed into the office at a time.
  • Temperature will be checked upon entry into the office.
  • Hand sanitizer dispensers will be available for use.
  • Social Distance- maintain a distance of approximately 6 feet from others.
