OHA Staff Participate in Foundations of Life Coaching
Opelika Housing Authority's Family Self-Sufficiency (FSS) Coordinators, Kimberley Allen and Stephine Washington, along with YouthBuild Program Coordinator, Willie Mixon, recently traveled to Kokomo, Indiana, to participate in the Foundations of Life Coaching training held at the Kokomo Thriving Center at Indiana Wesleyan University.
The Foundations of Life Coaching program is designed for professionals who work on the front lines of housing, stability, and self-sufficiency. Through hands-on learning and interactive sessions, participants gained practical tools to strengthen their coaching skills, enhance motivation techniques, and promote confidence and clarity when working with individuals and families toward their goals.
This training experience encouraged participants to reflect on their purpose, develop strategies to reduce burnout, and learn new ways to engage and empower the people they serve. By completing the program, OHA's team members are better equipped to guide residents through personal and professional growth while maintaining a balanced and compassionate approach.
OHA is proud of Kimberley, Stephine, and Willie for their dedication to ongoing professional development and their commitment to excellence in service. Their participation in this training reflects OHA's continued investment in staff development and its mission to empower families and strengthen communities.
