Community Walk
Community Events1st Annual Blood Clot Awareness
Community Walk
Opelika, AL
Blood clots pose a significant public health threat, affecting approximately 900,000 individuals annually and tragically resulting in 100,000 deaths. While certain groups such as women of childbearing age, cancer patients, athletes, seniors, those with genetic clotting factors, and the black community face a heightened risk, it's crucial for everyone to understand the signs, symptoms, and preventative measures.
This walk offers us a chance to unite as a community to honor blood clot survivors, remember those we have lost, and promote awareness for this important cause. Additionally, the walk will be especially dedicated to the memory of Lt. Marcus Colquitt, a pillar of the Opelika community, a devoted man of God, husband, father, brother, uncle, and friend.Join us for the 1st Annual Blood Clot Awareness Community Walk and help us take a stand against one of the most overlooked health threats in our communities. We hope you can join us in raising awareness and supporting this important cause. All proceeds benefit the National Blood Clot Alliance to support blood clot education, resources, and research.
