2026 AAHRA Spring Workshop
Opelika Housing Authority staff recently attended the 2026 AAHRA Spring Workshop held in Birmingham, Alabama at the Hyatt Regency Birmingham - The Wynfrey Hotel.
This annual workshop brings together housing professionals from across the state to focus on training, compliance updates, and best practices in public housing and housing choice voucher programs. Throughout the conference, staff participated in a variety of sessions covering key areas such as Fair Housing, operational strategies, and program management, all aimed at strengthening the services provided to residents.
Opelika Housing Authority was proud to attend under the leadership of CEO Matthew McClammey, who currently serves as President of AAHRA. His leadership continues to play an important role in supporting collaboration and professional development across housing authorities in Alabama.
Beyond the sessions, the workshop also provided valuable time for networking and collaboration. Connecting with other housing authorities allowed for the exchange of ideas, shared challenges, and practical solutions that can be applied within our own communities.
The conference also included opportunities for team engagement, creating a balanced experience of learning and connection.
Attending the AAHRA Spring Workshop remains an important investment in professional development. Opelika Housing Authority stays committed to learning, improving, and continuing to serve residents with strong, informed practices.
