CANCELED - 30th Anniversary of the SERC MLK Basketball and Cheer Competition

Greetings and Happy New Year!  After careful consideration, specific to the health and safety of everyone in our communities, we have made the difficult decision to cancel the 30th Anniversary of the SERC MLK Basketball and Cheer Competition, scheduled for January 14-17, 2022. 

Following increased and overwhelming concerns surrounding the Overall Level of Community Transmission of the COVID-19 virus, we felt this was the best way to proceed during such unprecedented times.  We are very disappointed that we are unable to hold this event for our children, but we know it is the right decision, based on the information we have today.

The Opelika Housing Authority is committed to do our part to help protect our community, and specifically our children.  We truly appreciate your initial commitment to this event and we are saddened that we cannot proceed, but current circumstances dictate.
